Actually that's probably true. Nintendo makes most of it's money from it's handhelds (pretty sure they still made a lot more with the DS than they did even with the Wii). There have been reports about how Microsoft hasn't really made much from being in the hardware business. If they had a handheld, and if hypothetically it was able to perform somewhere near PSP levels (let's be honest, no way anyone else will perform near DS/3ds levels) then it would make them a ton of money.
Handheld games are ridiculously cheaper to make, take less time to make, and you can generally do crazy ideas and the market is fine with it, yet they still charge $40 compared to $50-60 for the home console games.
