I decided about a month ago I would quit BSing and get my act together, and finally marry this girl that I know damn well I can't live without. The many discussions we've had on dating and relationships  here on VGC played a part in helping me sort out my feelings and get my ass together.

I would especially like to thank Nikkom and D21Lewis (I know he's not here anymore). Some of the conversations and testimonies really stuck with me and helped me to stop taking certain things for granted, and accept that things will never be perfect, but are pretty dang good, and that we can sort out the rough patches so long as we work together on them. So thanks to everyone, I'm finally taking that next step in my relationship.

I took her to Dallas this past weekend. She assumed we were only going for Medieval Times and shopping, but I surprised her with dinner at this posh restaraunt inside a spinning disco ball, and we also visited a Japanese botanical garden. I ultimately decided to pop the question right when we got back to our apartment though. The moment just seemed perfect then.

I know I used to do a lot of whining about my relationship a year or so ago, but things have really turned around the past few months, and I couldn't ask for much more in a partner. I hope all of you have or one day find the kind of happiness we share.

Thanks for reading.
