The game has a collector's edition that only costs €100. That's insane.

What exactly are the AR features in this game? I hope it's pointless stuff.

100 € for a 3DS game? Yeah, thanks, but no thanks S-E. Even FFXIII SE versions weren't this damn expensive.

Here's what's inside:

1. Agnès figurine.
2. Artbook
3. Soundtrack CD.
4. 34 AR cards.

I couldn't find any information on what the AR cards will do, but I assume most of them will function as an art gallery you can toy around with. A few others might activate short CG movies or typically trashy Square-Enix minigames. Possibly item/equipment unlocks, but probably nothing exclusive or overpowered.

With no indications that any AR cards will be sold separately, it should be safe to assume that the AR feature is non-essential, although it can't be ruled out that there will be sidequests that can only be activated via AR cards.

If this turns out to be true, it would be a very dickish move by S-E. Not that they're not fond of those, they pratically thrive out of them, so it is to be expected someway.

The only thing I can see driving up the price that much is the figurine. Most CEs include Artbooks and Soundtracks and they're 10$/€ more than the regular edition, tops. Still, 50€ for a figurine that's of unknown quality/collectible value is ridiculous.
