This gen belongs to 3DS, PS4 and XB1. Everything else will die off soon or plod along.

Stark contrast to the 5 platforms last gen.

Yeah I think so too. Though I don't think 3DS will have the length of lifespan that the DS did, I suspect it will start to gas out by the second half of 2015. Nintendo has exhausted a lot of their resources/big gun IPs just to get the 3DS to this point and already revised the system twice. 

And I think XB1 is going to get off to a slow start.
