@Plaupius
I saw a very similar brand roundup on CNN back at the beginning of January, lol, did you write that one.
Either way, yes, according to CNN, the Wii has the highest perceived value, PS3 second, 360 and PSP were last. This wasn't a pricepoint comparison either, so basically, the Wii has the highest percieved value not considering price, and it also has the lowest price point on top of the highest percieved value.
That's why, in CNN's opinion, the Wii has a seemingly limitless demand that far exceeds the other consoles.
Most consumers view the Wii as a better game console than the Xbox 360 which also happens to sell at a much cheaper price. When I say most, I don't mean all, I simply mean the majority of potential console consumers.
The RRoD issue has severely hurt the 360's image in the US, as well as the stigma the 360 accumulated with Halo and the original Xbox of being a FPS type system with little diversity.
That stigma is hard to shake off. Just ask Nintendo with their "kiddy" stigma, its completely untrue, but takes generations to shake off, if ever. Sony somehow managed to avoid stigma related with its products, even though they have historically been designed poorly(not this time, but in the past), and has become known for its diversity in gaming. Unfortuantly, Sony is creating a new stigma for itself this gen, due to 3rd party supports poor ports, and lack of diversity in many key genres like JRPG.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
