Beating Sony at home consoles is about as possible as beating Nintendo in the handheld market. Even when Sony seriously screws up in every possible way and beyond, they still sell loads of consoles as proven by the PS3. Now imagine what happens when Sony does everything right and the competition does everything wrong. I say we will see domination once again in Gen 8. There won't be a tie anymore.
That said, Microsoft does have enough money to not even care about sales. They can still afford to buy every important multiplat and some exclusives and whatnot. So I wouldn't worry too much, Xbox One will be fine and it will get games. But I honestly don't think they even stand a chance against Sony this time around.
