I was worried, because hell, I'd almost rather play the game on my own terms at midnight instead of standing around to play a one minute match. So I called, and my store is indeed starting the tournament at 9 pm and ending at midnight when I can actually pick up the game as well. So that's good.

 Starting at 9? Hmm. The line at my Gamestop forms at 10, with the tournament at midnight, because they said they'd get fined if they even opened a Brawl package before midnight. Does your Gamestop not have a huge poster out in front with "Line forms at 10 p.m."? Regardless, I'm gonna be at my Gamestop at 9ish, and I'll just play Advance Wars while I wait, hehe.

My store got told that too originally but now it's been cleared up the way it goes is this:

Store closes at 9PM all the employees have a meeting, go over all the rules and everything

Let people in at 10PM to play the tournament until midnight.

The winner at my store gets a stupid little trophy, like the kind they give away at wrestling tournaments in High School, plus the winner gets to compete in the next tournament (and hopefully for a better prize)

Once it hits midnight we sell the game.

The game for the tournament WILL be the full version so all characters and such but as far as we know all the characters will have to be unlocked throughout the night.  (Sorry for you Falcon or Falco players)
