3DS on fire. Wii U is tanking.
First things first--find a way to make it seem like the Wii U and 3DS compliment each other. ALL of the big games have some sort of novelty Wii U tie in.
Advertise the fuck out of the Wii U. People need to be tricked into wanting it.
Reach out to third parties and force them to take advantage of Wii U hardware's exclusive features. I'd offer financial backing for unique ideas and probably suck their dicks.
The third party games that people have been begging for--bring 'em back and modernize them. Wave Race, Ice Climbers, Urban Champion, Star Fox, 1080 Snowboarding, all of 'em. Many will fail to set the charts on fire but they'll strengthen the library and bring back the fans.
New franchises that have huge production values. Two per year.
New media functions. Last.FM/Pandora with lyrics displayed on the Gamepad. TVii support for even more shows. Movies with DVD styled commentary on the gamepad while the film plays onscreen.
Turn Mario games into events again. There used to be five years between Mario games. People should die waiting for the next Mario game to release.
