FireRed/LeafGreen came out one and a half years after Ruby/Sapphire. HeartGold/SoulSilver came out three years after Diamond/Pearl. Either way, I doubt we'll see RoyalRuby/ShinySapphire until 2015 at least.

- Platinum: 2009

- Gold and Silver remakes: 2010

- Black and White: 2011

- Black and White 2: 2012

- X and Y: 2013

 

I think Pokemon mainseries may turn into an almost yearly franchise apart of some exceptions. Next year, Ruby and Sapphire remakes. You've heard it here first.
