I thought the freedom was cool and that there was different shops who sold stuff for different prices. you could find hidden shops or play casino, you could even get treasures or had to pay people for destroying their cover. the music was really awesome in the legend of zelda, i mean i really liked how they created such a dark atmosphere in the dungeons with the music and the graphic style. Too much for my Contra/Double Dragon tastes at the time and too dated when I tried to play it later in life. I didn't become a Zelda fan until Link to the Past. From that point on, every game in the series has been a game of the year contender.
