Price cut and software sales

The WiiU price cut was only the last week and a half of the 2nd quarter. And I would think selling that many more systems in addition to Monster Hunter, Wind Waker, and Pikmin 3 would make software sales greater. Still confused. 

Yes for the consumer the last week and a half of the 2nd quarter but those units that the consumer bought were shipped weeks before. Now, I don't know if it was the retailers who took the loss or Nintendo honestly (though I would assume nintendo) and as for SW sales I would need to go back and check but Q1 usually has really good SW sales from Easter and "golden week" and gift cards/cash as presents from Christmas. If the cause of the bigger losses isn't either of these then Im not sure what would cause it
