A good metaphore would be comparing motorcycle sales to automobiles. Both of them do the same thing, but don't compete. That's why you don't compare sales.


I say you're wrong in saying that handheld CONSOLES are not CONSOLES.  I bet your argument would be that it would have to connect to a TV, which is a very arbitrary way to define something.  However, they do have different markets (handheld consoles and home consoles), though there's no denying that they have an overlapping market as well.  Most definitely moreso than motorcycles and cars (which by the way, a motorcycle is by definition an automobile).
