$50/60 a month isn't a whole lot in retrospect, but can we honestly say we WANT to pay this charge when we already give money to the Cable companies for this basic service? That is the real issue at hand. MS WAS the only one charging for what Nintendo,Sony, and PC gave for free.
So naturally, it was a bad thing. They even hiked up the price which is ludicrous. PS+ I think is still more appealing as a service (even tho now its required for online gaming) because its similar to discount/rewards memberships at retail stores. You reap savings, free games, early access to special deals, and privileges that are actual additions (Cloud Saves) as opposed to locking off things that were built in by design in the console which u already paid for (Online, Cross chat).
There was very little about XBLive that really made it a "service", PSN+ is. And the rumor that Live somehow ran better than PSN is a joke, concocted by those trying to validate that extra tax. It doesn't. The servers run on a case by case basis dependent upon the game and how demanding it is on BOTH consoles. FACT: COD ran like shit on my roommate's 360 even when hardwired in, on PS3 wifi it ran like a dream. We would go to his aunt's place.....total opposite. And after you eliminate that what was live ever giving you?Cross game chat? Ok, well PS4 has that too now
