@OP "No offense", but it really sounds like you've got some serious issues that extend way beyond Pokemon and gaming, if you feel THAT insecure about playing a game that doesn't involve shooting things and naked women.
That may be a bit extreme, but seriously.......Pokemon is one of the highest selling consoles of all time BECAUSE of the way it is. People like it because of the way it is. If it was "more hardcore", it wouldn't be anywhere near as popular. It IS something everyone can enjoy, from a little kid to an old man. It's a game where you make cute monsters fight each other. That's it. What more/else do you want or expect it to be?
Not every game has to be geared towards "mature audiences", and quite frankly, any grown up who has psychological issues with playing "cute", "cartoony", or "kids' games", has a lot more growing up left to achieve than they would like to think. It's about as dumb as people who say they're "too old for cartoons".
