I did some searching around in the Chartz, and I found out how many DS systems were sold during Pokemon Diamond/Pearls's debut in the U.S.
USA Week Ending 28 April 2007
Diamond/Pearl: 1,159,158
DS: 160,820 (+35%)
Last Week: 118,836
Now vs X/Y:
X/Y: 1,306,858
3DS: 86,345 (+97%)
Last Week: 43,776
So I guess there's nothing really unusual about the 3DS's hardware sales this week, but let's wait for the NPD results this month just to be sure.
