I got one at launch even though the only game I was remotely excited for on launch day was Nintendo Land for a few of the multiplayer minigames...which to their credit WERE fantastic (Mario Chase, AC: Sweet Day, Metroid Blast, Luigi's Ghost Mansion, Zelda Battle Quest) when played with a group of my friends.
Other than that though, I REALLY wish I'd waited for Wind Waker HD. I'd have gotten Pikmin 3, Rayman Legends and Lego City Undercover like I did anyway, but could've saved $50 and a lot of "empty" months.
That being said, even though there was a MASSIVE drought, I was finally "sold" on Wii U the second they showed off the "X" trailer from Monolith Soft back in January! That alone would be enough to justify Wii U for me personally. Add in WWHD, Super Mario 3D World, Smash Bros, Mario Kart 8, and the promise of a brand new Wii U Zelda game and Wii U is just a no-brainer, like pretty much EVERY Nintendo system. I get them all eventually...comes with the territory of being a proud Nintendo fanboy...but I'm just gonna start being more "selective" about when I actually buy in to the systems. From now on there MUST be a high-quality single-player or online-mulitplayer game available before I'll buy in. Please hold me to this in 5 years people when they release their next handheld or their rumored handheld/home console hybrid lol! Save me from boarding the hype train until a game I REALLY want is actually available!
