As T-Bone said, Safari Friend Zone and Horde Battles are one way. Another is with the Ability Changer item that can be bought in the Battle Maison for a hefty amount of BP.

It switches between a pokemon's available abilities, so I think it's possible to change into the HA. If it doesn't, it won't make any sense it being worth 200 BP.
@Smeags - Actually the Lapras is given to you by the guy in the green shirt when you first enter Route 11, he's right besides the route post. After you beat gym 3, not 4.
And you've only beat the 3rd gym? damn your team is much higher than mine (currently levelled at 32 everyone).

Oh right, I must have mixed up Fly and Surf then.
Update to my progress -
I beat the 6th gym and I now have - Chesnaugh, Delcatty, Auroros, Honedge, Helioptile, Pidgeott, Lapras, Golett.
I'm probably going to pick up Pumpkaboo as my next pokémon.
