Higher price tag means more money, and if you're not expecting a lower price tag to bring in that many extra buyers then you might as well stick with the high one. In many cases it would make sense to release versions of games at a lower price because they're old ports but if you think companies that do lower the price does that out of goodwill then think again. If they can come up with a (in their opinion) good reason for selling these games at full price then they will. Releasing say Deus Ex for Wii U at a higher price makes sense because Squeenix sees it (or wants you to see it) as a completely new game for Wii U owners, and they probably don't expect a lower price to bring in more money. |
