Why can't they be close to current gen CoD? You expect 50,000 preorders for each system? A lot of people are getting a next gen system. The people getting these systems at launch so happen to like CoD. You act like only 80.000 people will be moving to next gen.


250,000+ preorders for a game that will launch 6 (or 7) week later and for a new console? Do you actually believe that? How much will PS4 and X1 sell on their first week? Looking at these numbers it seems like 2 million at least! I don't believe that!

1- Current gen numbers are undertracked.
2- Next generation numbers are overtracked. The best selling game for one of them should be between 80,000-120,000 by now (and even that is a lot!).

Actually, the PS4 hit 1 million preorders worldwide back in August according to Sony, so first week sales of 2 million+ wouldn't be that suprising. As for the Xbox One, I believe it's at around 900,000 preorders right now, so I wouldn't be suprised if it hits 1.5 million in it's first week, assuming there is enough supply in stores to handle the demand. I think this generation is going to have more early adopters than previous generations, as this past gen has been one of the longest in console history (8 years compared to the generation average of 5.5 years), something a considerable number of gamers didn't like.

Early adopters of new consoles are usually core gamers, the type of gamers that love popular genres like FPS, so high numbers for CoD: Ghosts, BF4, and Killzone: SF really aren't that suprising. I've been checking Amazon's hourly and year to date best seller charts almost everyday for a few months now, VGchartz preorder data backs up what I'm seeing on Amazon.


Do you really expect the PS4 to sell 2m+ on its first week in the US?

Same for the X1, there is no way it's going to sell 1.5m worldwide, let alone US.
