I think cause some franchises have lost its credibility or something that made that franchise special, like i'm an avid tekken player and i've been playing tekken since tekken 2 and it peaked at tekken 3 it was easily the best but, it started to go downhill by adding in too many characters, stages with walls, ground bounces (tekken 6) and many other things but it is starting to change with tekken tag tournament 2 but its a bit to late. Other companies such as capcom lost their fanbase or potential new buyers with its business practices, remember the whole street fighter x tekken dlc thing, ultra street fighter 4 their 3rd re-release of the game and lastly they released ultimate marvel vs capcom 3 just 9 months after the first iteration and because of things like this they have lost a lot credibility
