The Witch and the Hundred Knight seems to have sold well in Japan, but the game had a long development cycle. Did the sales meet Nippon Ichi’s expectations?

We reached the initial amount that we wanted to sell. However, we are still in the red. [laughs]

What does that mean?

I'd say developing a Disgaea game with all these points maybe costs 20-30k dollars thats really nothing even I can make that much, so a team of 10 people can afford the loss and be in the red while still be able to make new games and "rely on legs" ,

I agree with a lot of what you're saying, but you're insane if you think the game costs that little.

I don't think they'd be in the millions, but surely 6 figures.

from scratch? maybe, but reusing resources? , and NIS is a small team, look at indie developers for example, they don't spend millions.
