Nintendo first party titles don't have as much of a budget as Sony or Microsoft first party titles and Nintendo keeps prices high on all the first party titles except the ones that bomb in sales, like Pilotwings Resort and Steel Diver for an example. With as many sales as the games make, Nintendo easily makes profit. Even on the Gamecube their first party titles sold well.
The Wii U will last this generation just as the Gamecube did and it will profit, but isn't going to make much money for investors..
