I was blown away with the combat system, how intuitive it is. It thrown you in to the first battle with 20 guards almost right away and it feel kinda like God of War in some aspect.
But then you get to customize your magics, wow. and Summons (a bit random, but you will find yourself praying for one during one of the boss battle) looks GORGEOUS!
What I really didn't find that great is the leveling up system, It depends on the dice you row, so I got leveled up twice in 1 battle and then nothing in about 2 hours.
Although once you get good at it, leveling up your magic is more important than leveling up yourself.
Oh, my friend, cried during the ending. And she was never that big a FFVII fan.
Con:
Random battle isn't random, you will learn to avoid it if you know what you are doing.
There are TONS of side-missions, but they end too quickly and you don't feel like it's accomplishing much at all, other than a way to kick ass and leveling yourself up.
Biggest Con.. I STILL HAVEN'T KICKED Sephiroth's ass yet. DAMNIT
I'd probably give it 9.5, slightly better than GoW.
