Musouka said: Yeah, I got to play Forza 5 at TGS because I wanted to try the new controller and the waiting time was only around 30 minutes. I really liked the controller. It was thinner than I have expected and felt nice in my hands. I totally forgot that the shoulder buttons rumble and was caught off guard :) That said, the visuals of Forza 5 were indeed disappointing. The demo featured a selection of 5 cars. I chose the orange McLaren P1. The aliasing was so bad, it was kind of distracting and the textures during the car introduction segment leave something to be desired. The demo was fun, but I cannot say the experience felt 'next gen'. Photography was prohibited so couldn't take pictures or videos. The Xboxes were visible and sitting under clear enclosures. Several people were playing Titan Fall in the next stand. That looked more graphically appealing but the Xboxes were hidden inside cabinets (quite possibly the only game to have the xboxes hidden). I really wanted to try some PS4 games like Drive Club for comparison but the waiting lines were so long (and some were even closed 3 hours before the day ended!) |
So wanted to go to TGS... might have to treat myself next year and go.
It's great that you got hands on.. i think getting hands on it so much better than looking at videos online etc. I will be doing the same on Thursday at the Eurogamer show, so that will be a good experience (as long as the queues are not too big). But unfortunately I suspect Photography will be banned there also, which i think is a joke... you either are happy to show stuff or you are not.
Even a staunch supporter of Forza (and Xbox) that i know said he didnt think that Forza looked much above the current Forza (not that means it's bad, just he didnt think it looked that much of an improvement for next gen). I trust his judgement as i havent actually played it that much, and he's played it to death. So it will be interesting to see how it turns out.

But you know that to get the same waiting time that MS had in TGS you would need to try PSVita, WiiU (the shovelware that decides to be there, not the 1st parties) because other systems will probably have large cues. |
Yeah, to be honest its a day off work and it will be fun just looking at the games being played. I don't really want to stand in a queue for two hours to play 5 minutes of a game I am already getting, so as long as i can get pretty close and just see how things run..., it should be ok.
