my dear, if you are saying yourself that wiimotes and nunchucks cost 10 dollars to manufacture, how can you believe the gamepad costs 100 dollars? you can post whatever iwata comments you want, that price doesn't match with what's inside the gamepad. edit: and suppose it's really that price and they dumped it to increase the hardware. we would have a slightly more powerfull system without the cool stuff from the gamepad. horrible tradeoff. |
A bunch of plastic using very cheap pcbs for controller input made in a facory in china where empoyees are paid 2 dollars per hour, yet you somehow expect it to be more than 10 dollars? 10 dollars is being generous.
"Slightly" more powerful? Ignoring an increased hardware budget, the Wii U could have been even more powerful than it is now if they just dumped PowerPC architecture and went with an APU and it would have cost the same. Hell using the same architecture they could get increased processing power if they decided to use more than 35 watts of power. Or they could have made the Wii U 199.99 and this discussion wouldn't matter.
