No, you can't. The Gamecube games are not using emulation but a "real Gamecube" inside the Wii. (GC's hardware is built into the Wii, that's why you need to use GC controllers/memorycards).
After it is switched on as GC it doesn't recognize Wii anymore and you need to switch it off to get back to the Wii menu.
