The Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate 1/2 price sale is another example (FYI: MH3 Ultimate for both Wii U and 3DS is 1/2 price through the 22nd through the eShop, get on it if you're interested). I think Nintendo is quietly testing the waters for more and more different pricing options for games.
Maybe a $29.99 Wonderful 101 eShop download for a 2 week period following Christmas when hopefully the Wii U install base is much larger wouldn't be a bad way to go.
