Lords of Shadow barely sold a million units on a massive budget. Mirror of Fate couldn't even break 100k. Lords of Shadow 2 looks like another bomb. All Konami had to do was create a 3D Symphony of the Night. Same exact game, but in one more dimension. Sort of like how when Metroid Prime made the jump to 3D, it still kept it's exploration roots intact. Lords of Shadow was nothing more than a God of War clone, and not a very good one at that. 

I don't think the budget was massive as far as such games go, and Dave Cox proclaimed it the most successful Castlevania ever. Take it up with him!

But yeah, I'd much rather see a 3D Symphony of the Night. Which we were supposed to get once upon a time. Hopefully LOS2 has more exploration elements.

Dave Cox just likes stroking his own ego. And yes that game could have been amazing. Maybe one day...
