Is it just me or does it seem like cartoony games on consoles barring the long-since established Nintendo tentpoles (Mario, Kirby, Pokemon, DK, etc.) and big-time licensed properties such as Disney/LEGO are having a lot of trouble selling?
The Wonderful 101, Puppeteer, Little Big Planet Racing, Rayman ... just bomb after bomb it seems. I don't get it honestly.
I know people don't want to hear it but I'm beginning to feel the market is becoming split. People want cartoony/colorful games on their smart devices (phone/tablet).
If they game on console then they want more realistic type art styles/graphics. I mean kids should be buying games like Wonderful 101 and Puppeteer and Rayman but it just seems like they'd rather play "Calladooty". But things like Angry Birds can blow up on smart devices.
