Sure, sure. I CLEARLY remember that when FFXII came out, people HATED the game. "Worst FF ever", "Killed the series" and stuff. XIII won't become "amazing", but it's gonna be considered a "decent/good" game, while FFXV will be "awful". Just wait.

I don't think that's true. Compare the team who worked on XIII to XV's and you'll see what I mean. FFXIII didn't have a single trusted person working on it, I was expecting it not to live to its name. While XV seems pretty promising with two respected key persons designing it, Nomura as director and Nojima as writer (If only Hiroyuki Ito is there to design the battle system... T_T)

The only people I think are guaranteed to hate it are (2D-ONLY Final Fantasy gamers) those guys are damn stubborn!

You have a good point, but the Final Fantasy fanbase in general doesn't work with such things as "logic". I'm totally expecting FFXV to be hated, and XIII to be revisioned as, at least, "not that bad". Yes, I admit I'm sounding a little fanboy-ish and stuff, but honestly, the whole fanbase is damn stubborn. I mean, FFXII had a pretty reliable team, and look at the overrall reaction.

i don't see that much praise for XII.

I never said it's highly praised. But it was despised when it was released, and now it's seen, in general, as a decent/good game.

The pool begs to differ. The most hated choice besides FFXIII/ FXIII-2 and  FFII which is why "Other answer" has that many votes.

Sure, but look at the massive differente between XII and XIII on the poll. XII is fairly close to VIII. At the time, people hated FFXII as much as they hate XIII nowadays. Like I said, the series as a whole is massively polarizing, and the fanbase is pretty damn stubborn (and even uses some double standards). Even among those who gave up on the series and called it dead after a particular game, the "time of death" wildly varies.

    The Final Fantasy cycle.
