I'd say not to bother with the 3D ones or Metroid 2. All you need to know about Metroid 2 is at the beginning of Super Metroid.

I've only played the first Prime and it was a bit boring.  Poor mans first person shooter with auto lock on mixed with slow first person exploration.  I didn't get too far before I quit and haven't touched it since.

That is the problem, it is not a fps, it is a metroid game perfectly translated into a first person game.

OP:

I liked Other M gameplay, it is a good game. But it has 2 problems, it is not a metroid game gameplay and Samus personality is not enjoyable.
