I remember when I got my PS3 and I kept hearing how awesome 1080p 60FPS full HD was. I fell for the hype on the internet and got Wipeout HD. I think I played that game for exactly one track. Wasn't impressed. Never touched it since. Didn't even notice the graphics, either.

With so many games already running sub 720p this last gen and still looking stunning when upscaled, I don't really care about native 1080p. Framerate issues are noticeable but never really an issue. The only thing that bothers me is constant screen tearing and that's not much of a problem these days. Early in the PS3/360 lifespan, though....

So, in my opinion, it absolutely doesn't matter to the vast majority of gamers.
