Pretty sure you meant to say 81.27x, which it would be very fair to describe as "about 80x". |
Time to do some math.
First of all, saying that the increase was a percentage, so, it goes something like:
Sb = Sales before pacth
Sa = Sales after pacth
Pi= Percentage increase
Sa = Sb+ Sb*Pi
Sa = Sb(Pi +100%) = Sb(8027% +100%) = Sb(8127%)= Sb*81.27
Now we have assunption to make: that the increase was not based on a overall. If they make it a overall, like one day well selled 2, the another 1, so the sales from everyday is like 1.5(remenber when the wiiu amazon sales got up to 927% after x1 anounce?)
But! Since they stated that the increse was based on the "yesterday launch", so i wil assume that the number of sales each day is totally unrelated from another. If is that so, means that Sb and Sa are integer numbers, because there is no way to make a 2.4 sale on one day, or you make 3 or 2.
So, the question is: what integer number multiplied by 81.27 give us another integer number?
The flaw: 8027 could be a approximation, like really was a 8026,6666666...%. If was not the case, we could go with: Sb = 100, and so Sa 8127 copys since there is no integer number multiplied by 7 that give us a number ended by 0. The next possible number could be Sb = 200, 300, and on.
If we consider that was actually, a aprox from 8026,6666666...%(dizimes with .66666 are actually pretty comom in real world), it gives:
Sa/Sb = 81.2666666
x = 81.2666666
10x = 812.666666 (1)
100x = 8126.6666666 (2)
If (2) - (1)
100x - 10x = 8126.6666 - 812.6666 = 8126 - 812 = 7314
90x = 7314
x = 7314/90 = 2438/30 = 1219/15 => Sb = 15 and Sa = 1219, but this is just the bare minimun, Sb = 30 with Sa= 2438 and Sa = 7314 and Sb =90 are possiblities too, but c'mom, the game came out in april, selling 15 games a day seems most accurate.
If the percentage is like 8126.748392%, well, so there is no way we can tell the actual increase(i asked then a confirmation about accuracy of the percentage).
Still, they got 10971 dollars from that day alone.
Can some one confirm one thing: they bringed us the level editor? Its using miiverse to share the levels made there?
"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."
