Sure it would be great if there was a Nintendo console with first-party support AND awesome third-party support. When that's happened, as it did with SNES, it produced arguably the best console ever made. But right now, Nintendo system owners are stuck without some of the major third-party releases. It's unfortunate, but, honestly, I think Nintendo has the better software library even without third-party offerings.
So if you're a Nintendo fan who likes playing the best the industry has to offer, then you're stuck investing in more than one console/portable system. But any fan who wants to play the best games every generation has to do that.
