Well, I have two thoughts on it.

1: Obviously it wont sell well, that's a given. The original only barely cracked 2 million sales on a combined userbase of over 100 million. Bayo 2 will come out on a userbase that's just over 5% of this.

2: However I don't think it really matters if it sells very well or not. I think Nintendo never invested in this game to be a big seller, but to hopefully draw in gamers from outside it's usual fanbase. Nintendo could easily have put the money into a game that would get high sales within its current fanbase, but I think it was a good call to try to expand it's appeal beyond the Nintendo faithful.

I'm actually quite anti-nintendo, but between Bayo-2, W101, Monhun Ultimate, Lego City and the new Sonic game I might just crack and buy a WiiU at some point. They are building up quite a nice range of 3rd party exclusive games and despite my grievences with the gamepad and the console's power, they are doing very well getting proper, exclusive games for their system, even outside of their traditional 1st party offerings.
