Nintendo is making a profit as of now. Sony is not. MS can't get a Gen 8 profit without having released any Gen 8 system yet. So you could argue that Nintendo is number 1 in profits so far this generation, too.

Well that's a silly perspective isn't it.

No less silly than the perspective that Nintendo is "struggling" this gen compared to the other two - the only other data we have for this gen so far is the Vita, and it's struggling just as much as the Wii U is, while the 3DS is selling well.
