Nintendo did a promotion for the Wii U's VC.

To celebrate the Famicom's 30th Anniversary, they offered for 30 days at a time, a 30 cent price for NES/SNES games on the VC.

Ballon Fight, F-Zero, Punch Out!!, Kirby's Adventure, Super Metroid, Yoshi, Donkey Kong

That's why I think sales number would be more accurate in dollars. Tough that's impossible to apply.
