If they both want this to happen, then go for it. I am not a fan of their games and havent played a single one of theirs that I can remember but if both want it and clearly they have a very good relationship, then they really should be joining. I would say the same for MS and its close 2nd party studios (like Mistwalker) and Sony have already done this with Media Molecule and Sucker Punch.
