Yeah, I guess so....

I know they want to maximize profit, but I still think giving bigger battery will not increase overall cost of this handheld too much.

To sell the system for $129 is an amazing feat. You should realize that with inflation, the only Nintendo console to be this cheap was the GBA Micro ($99 in 2005 is about $120 now), and that was physically a much smaller system. Gameboy Colour in 1999 would have been $140 in todays price, and I think DS sells for $100 now, but that's an obsolete system.

Hmm.... Well, I think I put it that way only because I just want 3DS system that have the same/better battery life than DS system.... and yes, you're right. With that price, it's hard to make any improvement for the system....

Yea I do too, I actually still don't own a 3DS, I held off for a redesign because I didn't like how crappy the battery life was in the original (3-5 hours), nor how the screens touch when you close it. I guess 3DS XL really isn't that bad though, 3.5-6.5 hours on 3DS mode, and 6-10 on DS mode. I'm just tired of waiting for something that might not happen. I waited and now I can at least get a solid black 3DS XL

I hear you about the battery though, I have an original fat DS model which had 6-10 hours of battery. Now I get about 3-5 hours 7 years later. So I expect my future 3DS XL to be as weak as 2-4 hour battery life when it's old.
