I'm not sure obviously, I'm guessing Nintendo has multiple screen-sizes being tested in their R&D as we speak though. I think 6.2 inches like the Wii U tablet, perhaps slightly bigger, might not be a bad range to guess.

So we are definitely talking about a terrible size for a handheld. Do you really think it's a good idea for Nintendo to destroy their handheld market?

Oh wait...

Aren't you the guy who also proposed that Nintendo would have been better off by making a more hardcore home console? Essentially what the GC was to the PS2.

You can poo poo the idea all you want but the writing is pretty much on the wall.

It's not something I see as imminent but still 2-3 years out, by which time the 3DS/2DS will have had a full hardware cycle under its belt.

And yes I have proposed that Nintendo releasing a Wii HD in 2010 or 2011 with a slightly upgrade chipset + more RAM (ala the DSi) and the ability to run newer games in 720p for $149.99 would've been a good idea and then a "New Nintendo Entertainment System" type product for 2012 that would be aimed to older consumers initially. "Wii" should've remained a brand tied to the Wiimote/motion gaming and served the role of a entry level console.

The GameCube didn't fail because it was a traditional console it failed because Nintendo gave Sony an 18 month headstart for no good reason and then proceeded to shoot themselves in the foot five times by making the console purple, not having a successor to GoldenEye, and making unwanted changes to several of their main IP.
