How many Wii U games run in 1080p so far?

Generally yes, some TVs do horrible, horrible upscaling.

My previous TV was a 24" and Wii games looked appalling on it in upscaled 480p, then I got a 32" and despite the bigger screen the Wii actually looked better on it because of vastly superior upscaling.

The Wii U's upscaling is excellent in my experience.
