It still sells great and while this is only my personal vantage point, the game is incredibly popular amongst the younger crowd. My nephew who is 8 can't seem to stop talking about it. Seriously, sometimes I need to to tune him out because everything with this kid is Minecraft, Minecraft, Minecraft, lol. As the game continues to reach more of an audience the fantastic word of mouth keeps growing. This game is incredible for what it has accomplished. What is even more incredible is that people continue to shrug off Indie titles like they are nothing. They are some of the better games out there. |
Steam, and among my friends both online and offline. Plenty of people who used to play it have moved on to other games, because it's coming up to its second birthday and was honestly never all that groundbreaking to begin with. I notice that quite a few of those people have been drawn to Dota 2 for some reason, as well as Kerbal Space Program.
The PS4 has plenty of indie titles which are somewhat new and different. Indeed, Minecraft's fame works against it here, because it's not really a very intensive game, so anyone who has ever wanted to play it ought to be able to play it on PC.
