Would you be a Nintendo fan if Mario had never existed?

Because I dared to say that the NES would have been huge without Mario, I was going to have to fight all night with people who didn't like that.  So I gave up, which seemed to make even more people angry.  I've had enough of getting into fights with a gang of Nintendo fans when I feel like I didn't even say anything bad in the first place.  It's a bit silly and more than a bit annoying.  So, yeah, I'm going to try to avoid being honest about Nintendo from now on.  It's just not worth the trouble.

So if there weren't any fanboys present, why did you start ranting about them?
