Nintendo does not own Platinum Games. Historically they've always used a second or third party to make their alternative games.

Sony doesn't own the guys that make GOW either, do they? What's your point?

Dude................God of War was created by Sony Santa Monica studio. Luckily they are putting out another new IP  because they havent in a long while out instead of just another co-title. They've been saving internal studios and external studios who are partnered with Sony from development hell all last generation. Its amazing they had enough to time to make two GOW games.
