But thats cool if you dont like mods. But if Microsoft come through with what they said about modding, then games like Skyrim will be 1000's of times better on Xbox One than PS4. Granted PC will still exist in the same modding vien. But PS4 will be left in the dust for games like that. Mods that add levels, change graphics, change characters, add new modes. Thats the potential from having a devkit in every owners house. The pool of talent goes outside of the development community and into the bedrooms. Just like PC gaming for the last 10 years.

Potentially, we could get old school Final Fantasy clones with newer amazing visuals from some guy in his basement.

Yes Xbox One will have a MUCH bigger indeie scene than PS4. In fact I predict a HUGE amount of bedroom Indie devs by gens end and a landslide in exclusives for Xbox One that just can never appear on PS4 due to Xbox One being a devkit at retail.

Don't get your hopes up. It won't be anything like on PC. Every possible Mod has to get through Quality Assurance stuff so it can be released on the Xbox store. And I'm not sure if Microsoft is allowing something like that free of charge for everybody. A mod like Randy Savage Dragons or killable Children will never happen on XBox. Even if Mods will be allowed, I think we will see many clothes and stuff like that for 0.99 $ per item.

If you want mods, you just have no other option than PC. Only on PC there is no corporation that tells you how you have to use your hardware. Only on PC you have total freedom. Which is absolutely necessary for the existance of community mods. If you buy an Xbox because you're looking forward to all those cool mods you know from PC gaming, you're ins for one hell of a disappointment.
