The most likely reason why the shipment numbers are so low is that it sold less than expected last holiday and resulted in overshipping. In NA+EU, Paper Mario was the only big title last holiday and there were great DS deals on black friday, this caused 3DS sales to undeperform in the west in holiday 2012. There was no need to ship a ton of units to begin this year since they had so many still on shelves.

Well we have no official data, like I said shipped does not equel sold. Overshipping in one quarter results in undershipping the next.


We don't have sales numbers so instead of using the next best thing and official standard within the industry - shipment numbers, we use rough estimates?
