In terms of sales, absolutely! Worldwide release of Pokemon in October has already guaranteed that. In terms of "hype" and sheer "talk," probably not. New consoles are always a big deal, so PS4 and Xbone will be getting a lot of attention regardless of how they actually perform and what games they have available at launch.

Interestingly enough, I think Wii U COULD potentially steal the spotlight and grab some headlines...but only if those headlines are negative. If Wii U successfully regains some momentum with the solid slate of games it has just begun to receive, that will be great...but probably won't draw much attention. However, if Wii U is STILL selling weakly even after the 1-2-3-4 punch of Zelda, Donkey Kong, 3D Mario, and Wii Fit (plus the other more "niche," supporting titles) then I would expect quite a LOT of spotlight on what would likely be officially considered Nintendo's first true home console flop. I would expect a lot of "DOOM and GLOOM" news reports and articles, even though Mario Kart, Smash Bros., and a price cut could STILL save the Wii U next year.

gamecube brother, that was certainly a flop
