Oh? Hype is just hype when applied in a sentence like you're using it right there, but that's not how it's being applied here. You and I are talking about "levels" of hype, just saying that there's "hype" for a game means very little (you said that apparently there's more hype for Sonic than Mario). Ok, so how much hype is there really? "Questionable levels" of hype = the ever-changing amount of hype between the period of announcement and launch, it's always going up and down because that's where people can sway and change their minds. This is a fact, peoples' overall hype level is constantly changing here. "True levels" of hype = End result, how many people were factually very excited enough to buy it at launch or launch week. It's about having enough excitement (a LOT of hype) to play it yourself so that you can judge it, instead of being swayed by people who review it. If you truly were very excited for something from the start, then there's no reason for you to change your mind. If you think it means being closed minded, then fine, it's exactly what it means, and if you think that there's something wrong with that, then that's your problem for thinking it's a bad thing (it's in fact a factual thing). I feel like I'm repeating myself too much, and it seems like you obviously are not even trying to understand. I'm gonna end my replies to you right here: No, SLW doesn't have more hype than 3D world, simply because there are a heck of a lot more Mario fans that exist in the world than Sonic fans, that's a fact. Some Mario fans may feel down about the fact that it seems like a 3D Land in HD, but they will still hold enough excitement to buy it at launch, and no reviews or opinions will change their minds due to their true high levels of hype. The sales will prove who's excitement (hype) level was stronger than the others (after the swaying period ends). Even after the swaying period, I can guarrantee that there will still be more highly hyped people excited for 3D World simply because there are more of them than Sonic. Now, reply all you want, have a nice day / night (don't know where you're at, so I'm not gonna guess). :) |
Most gamers aren't closed minded to the point where they can't be deterred though.
