Twilight Princess is the better game. The main disappointment with Skyward Sword was that it took steps backwards in various categories which ultimately made it feel like a Zelda game that was released before TP, not after.

Which categories are you talking about? For me it did stuff worse, but not overall, I'd like to know which stuff you thought went backwards.

Cutscenes were made unskippable again.
Screentexts couldn't be made to appear completely upon a simple button press.
Tilt aiming instead of IR aiming.
Increase of explanations for things that the player already knows.

And that's stuff you have to deal with throughout the entire game. Unskippable cutscenes aren't a problem on the first playthrough, but they are on a new file.

You do make good points there, For me from the problems you mentioned that really affected me was the unskippable cutscenes, the others I didn't really have a problem with, especially the tilt controls, but you're right, these are stuff that had to be addressed.
