Coming right off the heels of this thread.

This game will be a telltale marker on how this generation shapes up.
I feel as I said in the above thread that this would make a great prodiction league question.
This time unlike with 07 the games will all be released at same time.
Wii's Madden is totally different from the other two for obvious reasons and will that draw in new fans to the Madden genre? I must say I for the first time am actually interested in playing a football game since seeing Madden 07. I just wanna test out the controls. I understand the game of american football even though I'm not much into the real life games or videogames. So don't think I don't know the difference between first down, red flag and foul line. First down is football. 6 points a touchdown with the 1 point for the PAT for a total of 7. Field goals = 3 pts. This will be a test for Wii's online as well.
XBox 360's Madden will be big since the console's greatest territory is the USA and NFL is the national sport of american football. Between this and the Wii will I see the greatest debate. Tried and true traditional or newfangled and innovative? XBox 360 will have the graphics edge. The Wii Madden 07 inspired them to add weather effects to Madden 08 in 360's version. And there's the XBox Live factor.
PS3's Madden will also be a test. Can PS3 use this game as a recovering selling advantage displaying the often talked about sheer power it's supposed to possess? Can they with a mostly traditional controller give a unique experience that separates them from XBox 360 and make people want to pony up the 599 US Dollars (echo of Kaz: 599 US Dollars, 599 US Dollars, 599-599-599 US Dollars)?
Somehow I think the Wii and 360 versions will be competitive. XBox 360 will have some network advantages over Wii but Wii's control factor is undeniable. It's all a matter of how Nintendo gets the message through about the greatness of the new control that will show the direction. If they succeed, then Wii be top-selling version. If they don't succeed, XBox 360 will be top-selling version. If Sony somehow succeeds in their aims, miraculously PS3 will be top-selling version. That's the longshot factor.
BUT what about the lingering PS2 version? Will that hamper PS3's ability to make Madden as big on that platform? I think it will and Sony's gonna have to resolve this PS2/PS3 conundrum sooner or later. When PS2 was selling well alongside PS1 it was all good. But PS2 is indeed cutting into PS3's sales potential.
There will an article on Popzart.com about this soon. I just thought of this while sitting here. It'll be more fleshed out there.
